BBVA reinforces its global strategy

As a response to the implementation of the One Time Password as a security measure for Electronic Banking in the Mexican banking system, organized crime has taken on “social engineering” as its new method to obtain confidential information from clients.

We have been alerted to the fact that delinquents, impersonating bank executives, are making telephone calls to customers mentioning that they need to corroborate basic account information. This data is then used for fraudulent purposes.

We remind all of our customers that Bancomer does not request, through any means of communication, sensitive information such as PIN’s, passwords, codes or numbers generated by your ASD.
