If a check is missing or you notice some sort of irregularity, do not take receipt of the checks and report the incident immediately to Línea Bancomer at 52262663 in Mexico City or 01800-2262663 from elsewhere in Mexico
Make sure that the check book includes the activation number and the Request Form for a new supply of checks
When issuing a check, it is best you make it payable to a specific individual, rather than “al portador”, which is equivalent to “cash” or “bearer”. It is preferable that you also cross the check with two diagonal, parallel lines. If you use the indication of “para abono en cuenta” (for deposit only), make sure you don’t write over any other information included on the check
